The Billy Ross Quartet was one of Adelaide's up and coming dance band combinations from the mid to late 1950's. The group made their presence felt in the city and suburban areas, especially amongst youth, developing an enviable reputation as dispensers of first class Swing.
The Quartet was also known as Adelaides Benny Goodman Band, after a series of performances during airings of the "Benny Goodman Story".
Over the years the group existed with expansions on the quartet line-up.
