Black Chrome was an Adelaide based new wave band that formed in 1975

Biography[]

Black Chrome featured in a segment on the ABC television program 'This Day Tonight' about the Punk Rock 'invasion' in 1977. The musician singing in this clip was Alan Griffiths, younger brother of drummer Andrew. He was in the band for the second half of 1977, he only performed at one gig ("Anarchy In Adelaide" in December). This enabled Simon Stretton to concentrate fully on playing guitar. Simon then played guitar and sang through the rest of Black Chrome's existence. The band released a single in 1978 Australia's God/We Are Tomorrow.
