Brillig is a folk/roots group from Adelaide.

Biography[]

Brillig have toured nationally & internationally, sharing their music with Festival audiences from Prague to Leipzig, New Zealand to East Coast Australia, and have enjoyed rave reviews for their albums and airplay on radio stations around the globe.

In 2013 Brillig released their album, “I Ain’t Ever Gonna See The Sea”, recorded at renowned South Australian studio Mixmasters with famed producer Mick Wordley (Archie Roach, Jeff Lang, Jordie Lane, Eric Bogle). It is a 13-track album of cowboy ballads and sea shanties. Brillig's further releases include "Cautionary Tales", a series of singles and EPs compiled into one collection in 2015.The band won an Adelaide Fringe Festival Music Award in 2016 for their Speakeasy Sessions show, and are currently on hiatus.

Brillig member Dr. Elizabeth Reid is formerly the marketing manager of MusicSA, now Program Officer for grants and St Paul's Creative Centre, with the Music Development Office. Matt Swayne was formerly SA Writers Representative for APRA AMCOS until 2018. Matt and Elizabeth began a new music project called The Midnight Mares, which is currently recording a release for 2020.
