Chris Neale is professional drummer, percussionist, and teacher currently living in Adelaide, South Australia.
Biography[]
After first picking up a pair of sticks at the age of 7, Chris started working professionally at the age of 14 and has gone on to work with over 20 bands in the Adelaide area. He is well versed in an eclectic range of musical styles and has experienced a broad array of performance situations including high profile corporate work, musical theatre productions, and stage shows. As well as being an experienced live performer, Chris also has substantial studio recording experience having recorded one full-length album as well as over a dozen EPs for a variety of bands including the likes of Crump Cake Orchestra. A collection of recordings performed at Chapel Lane Studios throughout 2015 with fellow Adelaide based musicians has been documented and can be viewed on his YouTube channel.
In 2009, Chris commenced his percussion studies at the Elder Conservatorium under Ms Amanda Grigg. He completed his Bachelor's degree in 2012 with high marks and recently completed his Honours degree in the same field, graduating with First Class Honours. In 2013, Chris travelled to New York City as the only international student to attend NYU's Summer Broadway Seminar. Through this program, Chris gained invaluable insight into the Broadway music scene through master classes, discussions and one-on-one lessons with some of New York's most highly respected drummers, percussionists, and creative artists.
