Jamie Capatch is a saxophonist who was born outside of Chicago and raised in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He moved to Adelaide, South Australia in March of 2010.

Biography[]

Before leaving the Shoals to pursue a career as a technician, James studied extensively with saxophonist Jeff Coffin in Nashville, and has shared the stage with Swampers David Hood and Harvey Thompson, Rick Bell, Prince Damons, and Byard Lancaster. As a technician, James has done professional woodwind and brasswind repair for many major orchestras and players from around the world, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the NY Met, the NY Opera and Ballet, The Metropolitan Art Museum, The Sun Ra Arkestra, and most recently the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and Police Band.

Jamie is on the committee for Creative Original Music Adelaide and hosts radio COMA on 5MBS with Jarrad Payne. He is also a member of such acts as Satan's Cheerleaders, Chesterfield Brass, the Mike Stewart Big Band, Stop the Notes, Lather, Gumbo Ya Ya, Those Magnificent Screaming Bastards and more.
