Nakatomi is an Adelaide based Electronic music collaboration between two long term friends. They formed in 2014 and take influences from 1980's dark wave pop. Nakatomi combine pop hooks with dark electro dance music and vocals to create their sound.
Biography[]
The duo spent 12 months locked away writing, refining their sound and preparing their live show before releasing their début single ‘Golden Sun’. It was produced by BadCop and was released towards the end of 2014. ‘Golden Sun’ quickly picked up rotation on Triple J Unearthed and community stations around Australia, as well as the clip being played multiple times on RAGE. In 2016 they were featured at the Clipsal 500 'Bands on the Track' concert series coordinated by MusicSA. They also headlined Futuresounds festival, completed an east coast tour, and received national airplay from community radio stations all over Australia. They’ve been featured as a spotlight artist on Triple J Unearthed, Jump artist of the week (twice) on Fresh FM, and were selected for the MRC Clipit Initiative.
