Rectal Birth are an Industrial death metal band from Adelaide, South Australia and formed in 2003. They perform a style of Grindcore / Death Metal mixed with Industrial Techno influenced by Fear Factory, Thunderdome, Igorrr, Lenny Dee, The Berzerker and Moshpit.

They have released one studio album in 2012 (The Nothing) and announced a sequel to be released in 2022 entitled (The Nasty) to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of the first album.

History

All though it was created in 2003 with a live band, they only performed covers and disbanded in 2004. In 2012, Nameless wanted to pay tribute to his first band by resurrecting the project as a "one man band" with a new concept and released a solo self produced album entitled "The Nothing" which was based on the movie "The Neverending Story" with themes of depression and heavily splattered with faecal matter. When asked about the meaning behind the band name he said; he feels like shit, he gets treated like shit, therefor he must be shit, born the wrong way and living upside down. The band was entirely virtual with electronic drums and virtual guitars.

In 2021, Rectal Birth announced a new album is in production, photos from their Instagram page feature a live drummer. The album's working title was announced as "The Nasty" a sequel to "The Nothing" which was re-released on vinyl in 2022 to celebrate the 10th year anniversary.
