Rip It Up is an Adelaide based digital hub for music, culture and entertainment news. It now provides its audience with current information on music, film, TV, culture, food and fashion.
History[]
Rip It Up has had a long history within the local music scene in Adelaide. Rip It Up magazine was first published in 1989 and released over 1000 issues. It was a weekly street press magazine, focusing on the local entertainment scene. The magazine provided a comprehensive gig and events guide, strong local arts focus, live gigs and album reviews and interviews of Adelaide based musicians. It also featured a long running segment known as 'Bob's Bits' which has now been re-established in BSide Magazine.
The publication moved to a digital-only platform on 17 April 2014, but it is still engaged with local music including free local gig listings on their 'local gig guide.'
Each year ripitup.com.au celebrates the next wave of South Australian music with 'The Hot Six,' the artists they think are going to succeed in the next 12 months.
