Slip Of The Tongue is an Adelaide based party band that performs covers of popular dance hits from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's & 90's. It is a 3-person, fully sequenced band featuring male & female vocals, guitars and bass.
History[]
In 1990, after being known as the "The Beatmakers Showband" since 1988 (which catered predominantly to Corporate Events requiring full costume changes), the members decided to start a fun Party Band called "Slip Of The Tongue" to be run simultaneously. In 1994, they also started a 50's Rock 'n' Roll Band called "Pinky & The Pontiacs". Their last show as "Slip Of The Tongue" with the original line-up was held on New Year's Eve, 1995, at the Top Of The Ark (Arkaba Hotel).
In 2011, after 16 years apart, 4 out of 5 of the original members decided to reunite, along with the addition of a 5th member. They performed together for 2.5 years, up until New Year’s Eve 2013, when two of the members decided not to continue on.
In 2014, "SLIP OF THE TONGUE" became a fully sequenced trio, featuring three vocalists along with Guitars and Bass, playing a wide variety of different genres of music spanning 5 decades.
The band performs at a a variety of occasions/venues including pub/club gigs, social club functions, corporate events, private parties (birthdays, weddings, etc), both large and small.
