Smokestack Lightning was a blues band from Adelaide that was active from 1973-1978.

Biography[edit | edit source]

The original Smokestack Lightning Adelaide Blues Band album was released in 1975 and coincided with their Muddy Waters support show at the Adelaide Festival Theatre. The band had a weekly residency at The Eagle Hotel at the corner of Hindley and Bank street. Smokestack Lightning were very lucky to support several touring blues bands at the Adelaide Festival Theatre in the 70's such as John Mayall, Freddy King, BB King and Hound Dog Tailor to name but a few.
