The Byzantines is a rock group from Adelaide, South Australia.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In 2015 the band worked on their second EP with the help of the likes of Alex Markwell (Delta Riggs), Luke Godson (Luke Million) and Dan Crannitch (Love & Other Crimes) with funding assistance by Arts SA, as well as working on a brand new live show. In their spare time they collected a couple of solid supports with Urtek and The Cherry Dolls while also headlining Adelaide 2015 Reclink Cup charity show.

This came of the off the back of their first Europe and UK tour in late 2014 including an opening night show as part of Reeperbahn Festival. The Byzantines supported the Delta Riggs as they launched their second album 'Dipz Zebazios' to a sold out Workers Club (Vic) crowd as part of Rolling Stones Australia’s Live Lodge.

Before that the band had spent 12 months on the Adelaide live circuit, releasing debut EP 'colourvision', and collecting a slew of local and interstate support credits along acts such as the Belligerents, Conics, The Infants, Sincerely Grizzly and Pigeon.
