Vendetta - Live @ Crown & Sceptre 1998

Vendetta was an Adelaide based alternative four piece band active from 1995 - 2002. The band consisted of Liam Hausler a.k.a Lastly (vocals), Simon Henderson (Bass), Sam White (Guitar) and Ben Acott (drums). They later incorporated Liam's Brother, Kearin Hausler on Keyboards, samples and scratching and changed their name to Headware.

Early years and EP release[]

The band first played at the Marryatville high school Battlle of the bands in 1995 coming second to Caught Napping who would later go on to be called Snap To Zero.

The band drew equal first in 1996 with Caught Napping and went on to win outright in 1997 with Adelaide band Kudos coming 2nd playing their first ever show.

The band entered the 1997 SA Young Bands Challenge, a competition organised by MusicSA and SA Recording and Rehearsal Studios. Vendetta won their heat at the Jolly Miller Hotel and went on to win the Grand Final at The MadLove Bar.

The grand prize was recording time, gigs and promotion and the band went on to record their EP "A Little Empty" in early 1998 at SA Recording and Rehearsal studios. 

Later Years and Headware []

The band secured a monthly residency at The Seven Stars Hotel by winning their battle of the bands. They played regularly around Adelaide over the next few years, changing their name to Headware when Liam's brother Kearin joined the band in 1999. They would all dress up in costumes wearing a variety of outfits over the years, costumes and performance became a core part of the Headware show.

The band once paid professional make up artists to make the band look like zombies with fake blood/skin etc. for a performance at the Norwood Food and Wine Festival. The organisers were less than impressed as this was a family day and when drummer Ben Acott ripped his fake brain out of his head and threw it into the audience causing a young girl to scream in terror, the show was quickly stopped and the band was banned from performing there again.

In 2001 the band went back into studio to record a follow up EP, they recorded 5 songs ready for mastering at which point in 2002 the band decided to part ways with EP unreleased.

Liam went on to sing in multiple bands including Kudos and Fear of Phobias and is currently (2020) a solo artist Lastly and the lead singer/synth player for Adelaide band The Activation

Simon Henderson has played Bass in a variety of metal bands over the years is currently (2020) a member of Abstract The Light, The Activation as well as various cover bands.

Kearin went on to form The Bass Apes and then Adelaide live drum and bass act The Beat Smugglers 

Sam went on to from the People's Republic of animation with his brother Eddie before relocating the the US

Ben also relocated to the US but still plays occasional shows with his older brother Ganga Giri
